I finally got to meet one of my favourite authors – Kristen Ashley. I’d been looking forward to this for a long time, and she did not disappoint! It was also lovely to commune with fellow Rock Chicks. If you haven’t read any of her books before – you need to remedy that – you can learn more at http://www.kristenashley.net
I was out and about again talking about my books, my writing process and how important love stories are in the world we now live in. Thanks to the Alpine Libraries team for the support.
Love Sabre is now available! It was so exciting to share this release with my writing tribe. Be sure to learn more about us at http://www.lovesabre.com
I also was lucky enough to attend my first author talk at the Albury Library. Thanks to all those who attended, the library staff (who were amazing!) and my good friend Alison who asked me all the tough questions.
The Love Sabrists reconnected at the beautiful Indigo Winery for a writers retreat. With each of us working on different projects at different stages, we pooled our collective creativity to workshop ideas, plan for the release of our anthology Love Sabre and drink and eat too much.
We are a collective of writers who support each other through more than just our writing and the time we spend together is invaluable.
Thanks to everyone who came to the launches of Beyond Today in Melbourne and Porepunkah. It was great to see everybody and I’m so happy to share my book with you. We also managed to raise over $210 for the Australian Literacy and Numeracy Foundation.
After a competition on Facebook and Instagram, I’ve decided on a name for my novel. And the winner is…..
Thanks to all those who entered, you’re a creative bunch aren’t you.
I recently attended Fictionally Yours Melbourne. I have never been to a fan event and I have to say it was awesome, overwhelming and otherworldly. I was astonished by the number of people who had spent hundreds of dollars on books to be signed by their favourite authors, and how engaging each author was with their fans. The vibe was electric, and although Kristen Ashley sadly couldn’t make it, I went all gaga for some of my other favourites including Kylie Scott and Harper Sloan. If you haven’t been to a fan event, do it. It’s a thrill to meet the authors and they all are genuinely happy to meet you. The girls who run Fictionally Yours are amazing too, putting together a huge lineup of authors, merchandise, an after party and more, while being authors themselves. As I work on editing my novel for publication, there is will be an opportunity to help develop the final name! Stay tuned for ways to be involved.
I’ve recently attended the Romance Writers Australia Conference in sunny Brisbane. It was awesome, as expected. I head from some great authors, publishers and editors and most importantly to me, spend time wiht my tribe the Love Sabrists. We are a collection of writers who support other with life and our writing. We also send inappropriate Gifs until the wee hours of the morning. This year we are putting out an anthology, with each story using this year’s cringeworthy romance genre euphemism “Sheathe your Love Sabre”. For more information, check out our website
WHOO HOOO! I have just signed a contract with Borough’s publishing group for my first novel ‘Come back to me’ (working title).
I am ecstatic that Hannah and Howard’s story is going somewhere. Stay tuned for more information, and click here to learn what the story is all about.
Excellent news! I’ve made it to the second round of the Romance Writers of Australia Emerald writing competition for Hannah and Howard’s story. Now, to get my manuscript polished! Fingers crossed.
I’ve just returned from the Australian Romance Writers Conference in Adelaide, full of ideas and inspiration. I also moved a step closer to getting Hannah and Howard’s story published, so stay tuned for more information.
I was lucky enough to have two fan-girl moments, meeting both Natasha Lester and Rachael Johns. Both women were kick-ass and kind enough to sign a book for me! Check out the review page soon for book reviews. Here are a few pics from the weekend including a happy snap with Rachael Johns.
